DORHOUT MEES/DOMENICO CIOFFI

Photos: by me. First five photos are from the Dorhout Mees show. Last three from Domenico Cioffi.

It was the first show I attended during Amsterdam Fashion Week and I have to say it stuck to my mind quite long. I really like how designer Esther Louise played with sheer synthetic fabrics to create fluent forms in her collection for Dorhout Mees. In her previous collections (she founded the label in 2010) she also used the stiff quality of the fiber to extend the silhouette and she continues experimenting with it. I love the deep green colour in the quite minimalistic colour palette which was inspired by nature (hence why the music were chattering birds). Domenico Cioffi is a brand new Italian lable I’ve never heard of, showing a very clean and minimalistic collection with as high lights (to me) the beautiful coats and sun glasses made of wood (the frame that is). Wish I knew if they’d be available for commercial sale also. Up onto the next shows! Will show you what I wore in the next post. Happy weekend already!
