MARIJE DE HAAN
.Designer Marije de Haan showing her sailor men.
It was quite obvious what inspired Marije de Haan with this collection. She turned sea, ships, sailors and David Bowie’s “Port of Amsterdam” into a wearable, quite minimalistic mens collection for Spring/Summer 2013. She played with the kind of ‘pajama’ styled outfits, the very long open jackets with stripes, the overalls, knitted sweaters the working outfits but then in fine thin fabric. Also leather was used but in very little way (see the vest above). Although she concentrated on the more darker side of society, I couldn’t really find much ‘darkness’ in her collection. It was actually quite a fun, light and breathing show to me, which I loved. What do you think of this collection? More fashion shows on the blog soon!
